Here are 16 of the most commonly asked questions we receive, answered by our top-of-the line team.
Installation Tips
1. What surfaces can I use your product on?
All of our products are designed for flat, smooth surfaces. Peel and stick them to a painted wall, flat wood paneling, smooth wallpaper, furniture, electronics, appliances, notebooks, and so much more.
2. Where can I get installation instructions?
Instructions are included in the packaging of your product, but just in case, we also have them all posted on our website. You can find instructions for installing wall decals, peel and stick wallpaper, stick tiles, murals, and wood planks.
3. Can I apply RoomMates in my bathroom?
Absolutely! All of our products including stick tiles and peel and stick wallpaper work great in bathrooms. Don’t worry about moisture either. Just make sure the walls are completely dry when you install and leave the bathroom to air out for a few minutes with the fan on after every shower.
4. Can I apply wall decals to a room I just painted?
Any freshly-painted walls should be allowed to dry for at least 3 days before applying decals or any other RoomMates products.
5. Can I stick wall decals to peel and stick wallpaper?
Yes! Wall decals are suitable for all smooth surfaces, including peel and stick wallpapers.
6. What are the measurements and assembled size of the product?
Each of our products are different, so each has their own dimensions and coverage. Check the packaging for dimensions and assembly size, or you can see the sizes and dimensions on our website. Just search for the product name or item number.
Product Care
7. Is it water-resistant and washable?
Or products are not designed to be submerged under water. To clean any of our products, simply wipe them down with a damp cloth.
8. After I apply wall decals, how easy are they to remove?
With our unique peel and stick adhesive, our wall decals are simple and quick to remove. Just peel away in one piece, no sticky residue or damage left behind. For more information on the installation and removal or peel and stick decals, read up on our FAQ page.
9. How do I move wall decals from one wall to another?
Our wall decals are removable, reusable, and repositionable, so you can redecorate any space again and again. Peel them away from your wall, stick them to wax paper, and move them to their new home. Gently peel them away from the wax paper and stick to a new, clean surface. Alternatively, if moving homes, stick them to any smooth furniture. Then simply peel and stick them in your new home.
Issues With RoomMates Products
10. Why aren’t my wall decals sticking to my wall?
This can be caused by a few different issues. The most common is dirty or textured walls. Before hanging your decals, wipe down your walls with a damp cloth to remove any dust or dirt. Let dry for a few hours. If you are still having issues with the decals, please contact our customer support team at info@roommatesdecor.com.
11. There’s an issue with my product. What should I do about it?
We take great care to make sure you receive only the very best products from RoomMates. However, if you receive a product that doesn't meet our high standards, send an email to info@roommatesdecor.com detailing the issues you are having along with pictures of the products. Our world-class customer service team will be more than happy to help you.
Shipping and Order Tracking
12. How can I receive free shipping?
We offer free shipping on USA orders over $50 and Canada orders over $150. Shipping costs are automatically deducted from the cost if your order meets the criteria.
13. Can I order RoomMates internationally?
Orders placed on our website, roommatesdecor.com, can only be sent to the USA and Canada. However, our products are in stores all over the world. To find a retailer near you, contact our international customer service team at RoomMatesIntl@yorkwall.com.
14. Where can I get my tracking number?
After you place an order, you will receive an order confirmation email letting you know that we are working on processing your order. We want to get you your decor as soon as possible, and we strive to prepare orders within 1-2 days. Once your order is shipped, you will receive another email, containing tracking information. Additionally, you are able to log into your account at any time to review your order status, as well as capture your shipping information.
FedEx picks the product up from our facility and delivers it to your local USPS office, who handles the final delivery to your home. 2-Day and Standard Overnight orders are shipped via FedEx. You may also track your shipment using the FedEx website.

16. Does RoomMates print custom decals?
At this time, we do not print custom decals. However, we have a diverse selection of wall decals and would be more than happy to help you find something that would fit your design needs. Just reach out to us on Facebook or Instagram.
