Walk-In Closet Bedroom Conversion
Our favorite guest blogger Michele from Our Uncluttered House is bringing us this unique DIY room makeover. She turned an extra-large walk-in closet into a bedroom for her teenage son.
A recent move had us scrambling to turn a large walk-in closet into a bedroom for our 18-year-old son. I knew before the room was empty that this would be the perfect space for a brick accent wall. Not real brick. Why would I even contemplate that when this red brick pattern by RoomMates looks so real?
We started this project by removing two thirds of the custom closet components that already existed in the space. We repaired the damage to the walls to ensure a smooth finish and got to work. Three walls were painted, and the largest wall was ready for wallpaper.
Installing Peel and Stick Wallpaper in a Bedroom
This room was our sixth time using RoomMates' peel and stick wallpaper. I was feeling super confident and decided to hang this wallpaper solo without the help of my handy hubby who normally does the bulk of the work. This wallpaper is so user friendly and went up like a breeze. Just make sure to watch the instructional videos on the RoomMates website, follow their easy step by step instructions, and have all the recommended tools.
We were creating this bedroom for our 18 year old son so we wanted the bedroom to be functional, cozy and designed so that it can easily be converted into a home office when this guy moves on in a couple of years. I think we checked off all the boxes. The Stuccoed Dark Red Brick print keeps with the modern rustic design mix in our home and is the perfect teenage bedroom hideaway.
