Brighten a Tiny House Kitchen with Peel and Stick Wallpaper
Sometimes all a space needs is a pop of color to bring it to life. Whether you use a new throw pillow, a custom piece of artwork, or some fresh wallpaper, you can completely change the look and feel of a room in just a few seconds.
This is exactly what the Cunninghams (@threetinyhams) did in their tiny house kitchen with peel and stick wallpaper. Just under a year ago, the family moved into their 350 sq ft house in the California Bay area to be closer to family and to get away from the competitive housing market of the East Coast. Since their move, they've been able to work less and spend more time their nearly two-year-old daughter, turning their tiny house into a warm, comfortable home for them to share.
Despite their love of their tiny home, they were still looking for ways to incorporate new designs into their space. They wanted to brighten their coffee bar while still retaining continuity with the rest of the home's design. They found RoomMates' Modern Abstract Peel and Stick Wallpaper, the perfect pattern that blended a clean, modern look with something a little more cozy.
"When we designed the tiny house, we were trying to walk a line between warm and inviting, and clean and modern," they said. "We obviously chose a lot of white in the kitchen (white walls, cabinets, and tile) and a splash of modern with the geometric cube tile backsplash."
"We wanted to add a splash of color, and thought the coffee bar would be the perfect place to do this. The Blue Abstract Geometric is a fun play off the white tile cube backsplash, retaining the geometric theme. The blur of the lines reminds me a bit of the grout in the tile, but we love the mismatch of color, and size, and texture."
"Given the open concept of our tiny living space, this pattern also plays off the grey geometric curtains in the living room, and the blue sofa. It nicely defines the coffee bar space - a pretty unique area for a tiny house to have - but also connects it to the larger living space. In our minds, that’s part of good design; defining unique spaces while also reflecting and connecting them to the broader 'feel' of the home. The pattern and color was perfect for this!" said the Cunninghams.
