Fake RoomMates Decals
"My wall decal doesn't look right..."
There is a growing problem in the wall decal marketplace: counterfeiting. Copies and knock-offs of RoomMates products are appearing on Amazon, eBay, and other websites by the dozens. We are working very hard to remove these products as we find them, but unfortunately, some customers have already unknowingly purchased fake RoomMates.
Here are some of the typical differences between counterfeit and legitimate wall decals:
As you can see, the counterfeit product lacks the proper legal information, and is printed on an inexpensive, semi-transparent material. The decals feel sticky and thin. The size is also not accurate, and you may see differences between the colors, scale, and quality of the individual decals.
So what are your options if you have received a counterfeit RoomMates wall decal? Here's what you can do:
- If you purchased your wall decal from a seller on Amazon, eBay, or another marketplace, start by contacting the seller directly. State that the product received is not as advertised, and that you would like a full refund.
- If the seller does not respond or does not honor your request, contact Amazon or the marketplace for help. Websites often have programs in place to protect customers who are the victim of counterfeiting. Be sure to include all the appropriate information about your order, the seller, and what action(s) you would like taken (ex. a refund and/or a replacement).
- If you still cannot get help, contact us for assistance. You can click here to fill out our contact form. Our customer service department will ask you for details of your order, and upon review, may offer to send you a replacement product.
Please note that we may ask you for photos of your counterfeit wall decal to help with our investigation, to help us take action against sellers, or to provide as evidence to Amazon, eBay, or the other marketplace website.
If you are planning to purchase a RoomMates wall decal, we highly recommend that you buy from domestic (US or Canada) websites or marketplace sellers. Look for sellers who have positive feedback, secure websites, and detailed listings. And if you want to ask us about the legitimacy of a listing before you buy, we're more than happy to help! Just contact us with the link and we'll check it out for you.
Remember: if it looks too good to be true, it probably is!
