Friday Finds: Pretty Pennants

When I think of pennants, I think of the historical use, where they were originally flown as flags from the masthead of many ships. Following the use as flags, pennants were transformed into a way to show off your school pride. I even still have one from when I was in high school!

This week's finds are three great ways to transform this classic element into an everyday decoration or for a celebration. No matter how you use them, pennants can add a colorful touch to any space.

This colorful, patterned, outdoor pennant banner adds color to a space and can be customized to suit any taste. I'd have to say my favorite part about this banner is the bright colors. Just looking at it makes me smile, and it really adds a welcoming feel to this entertaining area.

A great inexpensive way to make over a space is to create this paint chip pennant banner. This DIY how-to gives you a step-by-step tutorial to bring out your inner craftiness. You could leave the banner up year-round or just use it to decorate for a party! I'm thinking about making a similar banner in shades of pink for an upcoming baby shower.
